Hello everyone,
I have a question in regards to getting a number back that was taken away
from my account. The history of it is, I have a pre-pay phone with STi
Mobile (uses the sprint network with no roaming allowed) and because I
live
in the rural country area where there is no cell service, I don't use it
but
once a week or once every two weeks. Anyway I went to recharge my phone
after non-use of about 3 weeks when I got a weird message. I called the
company and they told me that my 304-261-xxxx number no longer was mine
due
to the account being inactive. It was "revoked and given away" as the
help
desk guy said. So they assigned me a new number. I was pretty upset
because I use that number for business calls when I'm out in cell areas
and
now all of the people and business's I had given that number to are not
able
to reach me via cell. Anyway, when I got home, I dialed the 304-261-xxxx
number figuring I would reach someone elses home or cell. Ironically, I
got
a message that said I had dialed the incorrect number/code and to dial the
number again. This told me that it had most likely NOT been assigned or
used yet.
The history of this number is I originally had a pre-pay cell with
Cingular
a few years ago which orginially gave me that number. I then had it
transferred over to STi Mobile when I saw they had better pre pay rates.
Does anyone know if in this case, STi Mobile still holds onto the number
or
it's returned back over to Cingular? Is there any way or hope of me
getting
it back? I am now going to get a regular Cingular account because STi
Mobile went below the belt on this on revoking that number. The account
had
become inactive once before for over a month and half, and the number was
never revoked. At this point I refuse to do business with STi.
