I have a older model Cell phone (Nokia 6310i) that I orgianlly started
my plan out with AT&T and then Cingular bought AT&T Wirelss now AT&T
has now repurchased Cingular. When AT&T first introduced the GSM
network they offered a $99.99 per month package for unlimited
daytime / night time / weekends. I signed up for this plan have have
been on it since January 1st 2003. I have purchased replacement
phones on E-bay for my 6310i phone becuase I have really enjoyed its
features and reliability. Well as most of you are aware of they are
now changing technologies that this phone does not get as good
reception as it once did so I have been researching new phones. I
have been all over the Cingular website and to all the local stores
and thought I had decided on the Razor by Motorolo the one I was
looking at originally was the G3 (standing for Generation 3 phone).
We attempted to put my Blue - AT&T Sim card in it to see if it would
accept it and it asked for a password. The sales man told me that it
was a password that was related to my sim card assigned by AT&T when I
got the service back in 2003 and since then they have been purchased
by Cingular and now back to AT&T and they no longer have those
passwords. With this being said he told me I would have to upgrade to
a Cingular sim card and by doing so loose my package that I have
enjoyed since 2003. I do not feel this is correct nor right to force
someone to change plans due to changes done by them not by me. What I
asking is, is there a way to determine what this password they are
refering to is and or is there a way to crack a new phone so it will
not ask for this passowrd. I have tried my sim card in a blackberry
and a Palm Treo and it works just fine with out a password. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

KT
