I use a Boost SIM card in a BlackBerry 7100i and I love the phone and
the Iden walkie-talkie service. Since I do not get any services from
BlackBerry, I use Opera Mini as my web browser, and I activated
Telenav by putting my SIM card in a Boost Mobile Motorola i875 and
downloading it onto the SIM and then transferring the SIM back into
the
7100i.
There are two things I want to do but cannot do because of the way
the
7100i is programmed, which is obviously for BlackBerry services:
1. I cannot download photographs because Opera Mini attempts to
access
the BlackBerry browser for which I do not have service books.
2. I cannot SMS because again it looks for the BlackBerry service
books for Messaging.
I bought a Nextel BlackBerry SIM card and I want to find out if it is
possible to activate that SIM card on Boost Mobile. I already called
Boost and they said no, but they said the same thing about Telenav
which I have working fine. Further, they were always wrong about
where
to by a Boost Mobile Start-up kit, which I eventually got on EBay.
Another option would be to get the Service Books on CD or to be able
to download them, not over the air, but via the Internet on a PC and
using the application loader to install them.
By the way, that's another thing I managed to do. I came across
someone who had a 7100i on Nextel, He let me borrow his SIM card and
I
did an HRT and got four of the Service Books. I then put my Boost
Mobile SIM card back in my 7100i. There are solutions to almost
everything.
