Connecting a Siemens A75 to a computer via USB

Hello.

I have got a Siemens A75 mobile phone, which came with a USB cable. I 
have downloaded and installed the MPM (Mobile Phone Manager) software 
package, but have not been able to get the software to recognize the 
device. It keeps saying no phone is connected. I have read the 
do***entation and also tried speaking to Siemens' technical sup****t 
staff, but they just said it should work. Well, it doesn't.

Has anybody here got an A75 too? Have you succeeded in getting it 
connected to your computer? FWIW, my system runs Windows XP Professional 
with SP2.

I would appreciate any suggestion or comment that might help me in 
solving this problem.
