I don't use newsgroups to vent my anger, so this story is here only to warn
those who consider buying a phone from MyWorldPhone.com. They have very
low
prices, but you get what you pay for.
I bought a Nokia 6230 from MyWorldPhone.com over two years ago and
received
an Asian version of the handset to my surprise. At that time, I simply
resold the phone on eBay (at a loss) and then bought a European version
from
another, much more reputable vendor. Now, about a month-and-a-half ago, I
decided to buy a Nokia 6131. Having not completely learned my lesson, I
called MyWorldPhone.com and asked their agent which version of the handset
I
would get from them. He said I would get a European version, and then I
placed an order. Two days later, I got an Asian phone in the mail. I
called them, explained what happened, asked for a refund, got an RMA
number,
and sent the phone back. That was more than a month ago.
I still have not received my refund. When I send them email, I get no
response. When I call them, clueless staff can't be of any help and keep
transferring me to dead extensions. Managers and supervisors are nowhere
to
be found. Several times now someone has told me that I would get my
refund
at the end of the day, but it has yet to happen. I opened a dispute
through
PayPal, but my claim was denied, because I ****pped the phone back via USPS
Priority Mail, which has no tracking number. That was the ****pping method
recommended by MyWorldPhone.com. I should have, of course, used a method
with a tracking number; that was my mistake. I'm sure this works out
great
for these guys.
At this point, I don't expect to ever get my money back. At least, not
until I go to New York and pay them a visit. So, the moral of the story
is:
if you don't mind having an Asian phone, go ahead and buy it from
MyWorldPhone.com. Otherwise, steer clear of them. Under no cir***stances
return anything to them.
