Hi folks,
I currently have a Treo 700p (contract is up in August) and a Merlin S620
aircard (contract up next
week); the latter is set up as an add-a-phone on a conventional non-SERO
retention plan.
I also have an old dead UTStarcom CDM-120 aircard that is still on the
account (no charge,
long story, it was left on the account to let the contract run out) whose
contract ran out last
January and could be upgrade bait, perhaps?
I'm on unlimited data with the S620 aircard ($70/month).
SERO charges only $50/month for unlimited mobile broadband use, so I was
looking to get a new
USB aircard on SERO and save the $20/month. Or, am I missing something?
I'd PREFER the U727 because of its known Linux compatibility (among other
things).
I tried to go through the SERO purchase interface, it lets me add the
Compass 597 to the shopping
cart just fine, but if I try the same with the U727, I get:
" No products are currently available in this area.
There are currently no rate plans available for your zip code."
I called the SERO sales line, and they said that I'm SOL.
So, my questions are:
1) why would the Compass be available but the U727 NOT available via SERO?
2) is there another way to get that $50/mo unlimited rate without going
through SERO?
thanks for any help.
