Hello paulus
Please find my answers:
1. These two cannot be related.
2. This depends. See like in the UTRAN you have UDP/IP towards the
3g-SGSN side and RLC towards towards the MS
3. Its the same for UMTS

UMTS is a standard, the protocol layers it will use is defined in
specifications. Well ofcourse these layers can be related to OSI
reference model.
