Van de graaff belt and copper

by "Riot77" <sandi.cimerman@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Mar 6, 2006 at 11:05 AM

Hi all-
I hope you can help me with this problem;

I'm crating for school project a Van De Graaff generator,
and I bought a expensive medical rubber that has a great
charge collection. But to creating a circle from this rubber,
I used a copper wire at both end and sewed it together with it.
Now by tribuelectric laws and avoiding of use of metal parts
I'm scared that my VDG generator will not work.

Can anybody anwser to me if this will have critical effect on
VDG!?

Please anwser quick! Thank to all anwsers.
