identify chips

by rush@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (RusH) May 23, 2003 at 11:32 PM

I want to identify some chips and find they'r pdfs (pinouts) :

Those are the pictures of an old laptop mobo.

cl_gd7548-85qc-b
graphic chip, this one's out of my interests

cl_pd6730
PCMCIA conroller, PCCard only I'm affraid

um8669f
IDE/ATAPI interface, is he hanging on an ISA bus ?

um8886be-n
(north bridge ?) PCI brigde - this one interests me the most, where (if
possible) can i find some more info about this chip ? pinouts/timings/..

um8891bf
(south bridge ?)?? memory bus leads to this one, again where (if possible)

can i find some more info about this chip ? pinouts/timings/..

um8892be-n
??

I would like to use this laptop leftovers as an embedded system. I'v got
working keyboard and LCD. There are two problems :

1 with memory - I'v got only 8mb. I wonder about soldering standard simm
72
socket. This MB has two 5V 72pin sodimm sockets so theoretically I can
solder two standard 72 pin sockets and use standard SIMMs.

2 buses - I would like to add external PCI slot and maybe ISA. I allready
know that I need additional device select signals from the north bridge
(thats why I asked for its pinouts).

Are data needed to do above available on the net ?
Ther's alvays secont idea - I can try to find similar pentium AT/ATX board

utilizing those chips (UMC 8891 8892 8886) and copy the design. The goal
is
to matke it ****table (battery powered like it is now).

Pozdrawiam.
