I understand it will be in an exposed position but for those who have
some cover may I suggest an old cheap laptop. I use a Tosh running XP.
My philosophy is that if it croaks then I just go on eBay and get an
other one. Couple it with the waterproof keyboard (UK Marine Map £15 or
so) and a cheapo mouse from a supermarket, and you never really have to
"handle" the machine or drip over the keyboard. It can be clothed in
clingfilm with some silica gel sachets when not in use / stored onboard
or even when in use as long as vents are clear. "Salt air" has not, to
my knowledge, done any harm to it over the last 3 seasons. I take it
home every now and then and certainly over the winter to keep
condensation off it and plan the next years outings.
