I just found out that Scanners Unlimited had shut its doors.

It took me by surprise, because Glenn had only just relocated to a
larger place in 2005 to accommodate more business. That's why a
retirement announcement so soon afterwards didn't make much sense to
me ... even after 31 years.

Makes me think that maybe it turned into a big mistake, so he threw in
the towel before it started chipping away at his own meal ticket. I
don't blame him anyway. He's been at it long enough and knows the
market has been trashed.

I bid you farewell Glenn. The factory fresh AOR MK3 you sent to me a
few years back is still in flawless service (for what scanning is
worth today). My timing was typically terrible, because I returned to
your website to size up a GRE to add to it.

It's funny, because I even missed the flea market sale he held on
April 12th by two days. However, I'm pretty sure most of the better
stuff never made it there.
