Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Our client is a manufacturer of production vacuum deposition systems as
well 
as components for the vacuum industry.  They are best known for their
family 
of alumina deposition tools that are extensively used in the manufacture
of 
thin film heads for disk drives.



They are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design complex,

automated vacuum deposition tools used in the manufacture of disk drive
thin 
film heads.  This is a very exciting and rewarding op****tunity with above 
average compensation. Our client is only willing to hire the best of the 
best.



RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Assist in the design of a new fully automated, load-locked
vacuum 
sputter deposition tool, intended to serve the Disk Drive Thin Film Head
and 
related process intensive markets.

·         Be a consistent contributor to the continual improvement effort
of 
other tools that our client manufactures.

·         Assist in the execution or review of various component design 
projects (e.g. sputter source, throttle valve, etc.).



REQUIREMENTS

·         BS degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.

·         At least 8-10 years of industry experience.

·         Broad knowledge of vacuum systems and automated substrate
handling 
designs, with emphasis on sputter deposition tools used to process AlTiC, 
Silicon and related 6" Ø and 8" Ø wafers.

·         Experience in generating conceptual drawings and/or ideas as 
solutions to problems as well as detailing systems and sub-systems.

·         Ability to perform theoretical calculations and applying them
into 
production-worthy solutions.

·         Ability to work in a small company environment and wear many 
different hats as required.

·         Good communication skills (verbal and written).

·         General understanding of manufacturing and engineering 
organizations and processes.
